Sergio Hudson: A Designer for the Bold and Powerful
Sergio Hudson is an American luxury women's wear designer who is widely known for his bold monochromatic designs. His interest in fashion design began with his mother, who was a tailor, and his sister, a model.
Early on in life he was designing dresses for his mothers clients. Fast forward to 2005, Hudson's love of fashion and dream to be a designer pushed him to attend Bauder Fashion College for his Associates of Fashion Design degree . Upon graduating in 2007, he was a featured Young Entrepreneur for The Auntie Karen Foundation. That same year, Hudson became part of Auntie Karen's Glam Squad where he designed the dress Karen Alexander, CEO of the foundation, wore to the annual Legends of: concert series.
In 2013, Bravo debuted their reality TV series, Styled to Rock, which featured designers to create for different A-List celebrities such as Rihanna (who produced the show), Miley Cyrus, and Kelly Osbourne. Sergio Hudson was one of those designers and after the show, his career took off to new heights as he won the first season. Since winning the show Hudson launched his namesake collection in 2014. The collection features exquisite tailoring, bold monochromatic looks and silhouettes that compliments the woman's figure. Hudson's designs have been seen on First Lady Michelle Obama for her Becoming book tour as well as the 2021 Presidential Inauguration (Styled by Meredith Koop), Vice President Kamala Harris, Beyoncé, Janelle Monae, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian and Kendall Jenner.
