Monday Motivation: What to avoid during holiday meals

Updated: Nov 23, 2020

Thanksgiving is only a few days away and we are preparing for our holiday spreads. Some of us go all out with all the traditional food such as Turkey , Sweet-potatoes , Mashed potatoes, Greens, Stuffing etc Along with all the dessert we love. We consume a huge number of calories on Thanksgiving. Today we are going to provide the number one sweetener to avoid that may help your body identify when it is full sooner than later to prevent over eating during the holiday festivities.

The number 1 sweetener to avoid is High Fructose Corn Syrup!

HFCS is an artificial sugar made from corn Syrup. It increases the risk of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. It also blocks the hormone Leptin which tells your body it’s full which results in overeating. Be sure to read the labels on Juice beverages and select 100 % Juice options while shopping. Now that you know what to avoid you can enjoy all the delicious food without over eating and the dreaded food coma. Be sure to get a little exercise by taking a quick walk or 10-15 minute living room routine the whole family can participate in perhaps.
