Monday Motivation: Getting Back On Track



Some of us are off track with our health&fitness routine and some of us have never started a routine. Let me guess are you one of those women paying for a membership every month yet never attending or you made a New Year resolution every year to get healthy but you have not followed through? If your answer is yes to any of the above questions lets get you On Track ! First off lets start by asking yourself what's holding you back? Why do you want to adapt a plan? What is your overall goal? I hear women say they don't have time, they don't know what exercises to do once they get there, or they just can't get motivated. Now let's change the story you are programming yourself to believe because it starts with your mindset. Here are a few tips to begin your shift into a healthy lifestyle.


1. Change your mindset!

You do have time maybe not 2 hours but you do have 20 minutes. Start to think of your workout as a quick experience not a long drawn out process. Start in short increments and increase over time. Don't call it a workout rename the experience ex: Operation Build my booty or bye bye medication plan

2. Have a plan of action!

If you are going to workout at home look on youtube for quick videos to participate with be sure to search workout for beginners in the browser.

If you are going to a gym ask if they have a trainer who create a plan to get you started. If they do not have a trainer available begin with 20 minutes of the treadmill or the elliptical. Commit to 3 days a week for 20 minutes (beginners tend to set unrealistic goals and quit once they feel they have deviated from the plan)

3. Stay motivated!

Anything we want to achieve in life will require motivation and dedication. While working out choose a playlist that is upbeat that you enjoy. Write your workouts on your weekly goals or to do list in order to hold yourself accountable. Remember your why.

4. Be Kind To Yourself

Release the negative self talk replace it with positive affirmations ex: I can do this, I deserve to be healthy, I have plenty of time,

Be patient if weight loss is your goal. Do not focus on the scale numbers it's about feeling great, having more energy, and building self confidence first.
