Monday Motivation: 2020 Edition

The year 2020 is upon us and we are excited to send you into the New Year with some fresh motivation in a few different areas. We often provide healthy eating tips and inspiration as well as fitness motivation. Today we want to go deeper to jump start a great new year !!!! Here are a few tips.



1. Look out for your mental health.

There are many instances in which we forget to take care of our mental health. There is still a stigma within certain communities in regard to mental health often frowned upon. We are ending that stigma. Our minds need maintenance just as our bodies need checkups.

  • Therapy is a great way to talk to a professional who can offer unbiased insight , guidance, and tools to maintain a healthy mental state.

  • Remove toxic environments

  • Refrain from gossip

  • Work on a positive self image



2. Work On your physical health

Exercise keeps the brain and your other vital organs healthy and is also a significant benefit towards improving your mental health.

  • Boosts your energy

  • Increases self-esteem

  • Helps with healthy sleep habits

  • Increases concentration



3. Eat Well

Your brain needs a mixture of nutrients to stay healthy and function well. A diet that is good for your physical health is also good for your mental health. A healthy balanced diet includes:

  • Fruits and Vegetables

  • whole grains

  • nuts

  • fish

  • plenty of water




4. Keep in touch

Catching up with loved ones face to face can be great but that`s not always possible.

  • Give them a call

  • send a text

  • chat online

  • keep communication open

5. Ask for Help

None of us are superhuman. We all sometimes get overwhelmed by how we feel or when things do not go according to plan.

  • ask family or friends for help

  • seek mentor-ship

  • contact local services



6. Take a Break

Resting when needed, changing the scene and or change of pace is good for mental health.

  • weekend trip

  • take 'me time'

  • Plan a spa day

  • Get dressed and Go out on the town
