How to Style: Red Accents

Updated: Feb 28, 2020

What's up Indigo Blue Stylers? Lets cut right to the chase and talk about our styling tips for this weeks trend: Red Accents

1) Make the red your statement: I know, I know, you thought this week was about accenting with reds. It totally is, but pair your red accents with nude colors and you are BOUND to make a statement. Make sense now? No? Well take a look at Miss Onika Miraj (Nicki Minaj). She paired her nude body suit and dress with red hair, shades and shoes. Because her dress is nude your eye is automatically attracted to the red contrast, therefore making a statement with her accent color.

2) Details, details details: Not committed to red yet, no worries. Focus on adding small red details to your look. Think a cute red lip or some red details on parts of your outfit. That way it still stands out, but you don't feel consumed by the amount of red.

3) Black, white and red all over: If y'all are anything like me, blacks and whites are your go to colors (especially when you don't know what to wear). I mean, lets get real, you can never go wrong with black and white. BUT sometime you want to throw a little extra into the color scheme. Red is the perfect color to do this with because you can throw on a little or a lot and it won't look like you tried too hard. This is perfect for business or casual looks, so it's also versatile.
