How to Style: Gender Neutral
Updated: Feb 28
Welcome back Indigo Blue Stylers! So this week we talked the Gender Neutral trend that both men and women can wear, so lets get into some tips.
1) Sweaters: In the Fall and Winter we all love a good sweater and I'm sure many of us don't even care if it is made for men or for women. As long as it keeps me warm and comfy, I'm not complaining. They are great layering pieces and can be worm by both genders and look great. Plus, either gender can wear it the same way and it will still look great!
2) Kilts: Yes, those "skirts" you may see some Catholic School girls wear, can be worn by both men and women. Historically kilts were actually worn by men first in some areas of the world. Just think of the Scottish some of their traditional attire for men included Kilts! I bet that's something many of us didn't even know. Take a look below at how Louis Vuitton incorporates both men and women in in kilts.
3) Shoes: Let's think about some of our favorite footwear items/brands, and I'll even name a few: Converse, Vans, Dr. Marten, Timberland's, Jordan's, Nike. What do they all have in common? Both men and women can sports the same shoe and nobody will question which gender it was made for. Yes, some of them may change the sizing a bit to conform with the differences of a man's or a woman's foot, but at the end of the day either gender can wear the same style. Check out how both Beyoncé and Zac Efron styled their Converse Chuck Taylors.
Okay Stylers! Don't be afraid to try some gender neutral items and share your stylings with us on IG,Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest at @indigobluestyle!
