Christian Dior: Pre-Fall 2021
We may be heading into summer but Creative Director, Maria Grazia Churzi and her team at Dior are giving us a look ahead for what to expect for the Fall. During Shanghai Fashion Week Dior showcased their Pre-Fall 2021 collection and its giving us everything we needed!
The collection was inspired by Pop art, freedom and happiness, which is expressed by usage of loud colors, shining sequins and bold prints. But of course, it wouldn't be Dior without the puffy skirts, berets and the J'ADIOR "8" we have all come to know and love. All of these elements have come together to create a statement collection that we can all find joy in, especially if you have an artistic and creative mind. Churzi wanted to this collection to be somewhat of an anti-depressant for the world during these extremely difficult times.
Some of the stand out elements of the collection are the use of leopard print and sequins throughout it. While the use of leopard print can easily go from fashion to overwhelming, Dior seamlessly integrated it into this collection. From coats and dresses, to sweaters and more, leopard print is featured in a way that remains playful. The same can be said about the sequins. Dior used the sequins to make different types of garments that are fun and can be mixed and matched with other items in our closets to be more versatile.
Overall, this collection is true to the inspiration while still being true to Dior's aesthetic. What do you think about the collection? Let us know in the comments.
