Balenciaga creative director Demna Gvasalia has been hovering on top of the fashion world for almost eight years now. He is leading Balenciaga down a unique, individual path, conducting many memorable collaborations and moments in fashion
For the spring 2023 collection, the Models walked down the runway wearing latex masks in a mix of ready-to-wear and eveningwear collections.
“The biggest and most important challenge for any kind of creative is to make a product that is desirable, to create desire. That’s what fashion should do,” he said. “The commercial success of a product is linked to that desirability. That’s the biggest and most difficult thing.” said Demna while interviewing backstage.
Demna divided the show into three sections, the first section started with the introduction of a new demi-couture line “Garde-Robe”, which featured classic garments such as silks , wool and gabardine tailored in suits and oversized coats.
The second part of the collection was evening wear bodycon gowns, tuxedos and silk trenches and extra chunky shoes took center stage, accompanying the leather skirts, maxi-length coats and more.
Part three showcased Demna’s collaboration with Adidas. Comprising apparel, footwear and accessories highlighted with Adidas's iconic stripes, a modified trefoil logo on robe coats, long shorts and big track jackets accompany by the leather backpacks and duffle bags.
